Editor’s Note

We are more than happy to announce that the eighth issue of UST WORKING PAPERS IN LINGUISTICS (USTWPL) is published during the summer time this year. Since the publication of the seventh issue, we have received great help from colleagues and friends in the linguistic circle of the University System of Taiwan (UST). As mentioned in the previous issues, “The purpose of USTWPL is to promote interest and communication in linguistics and related fields among faculties, students, alumni, and visiting scholars of the University System of Taiwan”, the publication of this issue of USTWPL is thus one step further toward this goal. 

We are earnestly grateful to all the anonymous referees for their efforts and precious comments on the drafts submitted to USTWPL. Also, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to all the contributors for their patience and commitment during the process of reviewing and editing. Finally, we sincerely appreciate the Graduate Institute of Linguistics at Naitonal Tsing Hua University for the financial support and all the help making the publication smoothly.
